Important Update

It is with sadness that a few days ago the Trustees of Down’s Heart Group made the difficult decision to dissolve the charity.

Various factors have affected us in making this decision and we have thought long and hard about it, but eventually we unanimously agreed that the best way forward was to go with a planned and managed dissolution.

Many of you have made personal links with members of our team, so if you would like to reach out and obtain their personal contact information to maintain those relationships, or you wish to ask any questions about the group closure, please get in touch using the info[at]dhg.org.uk email address which will remain open and monitored until the dissolution process is complete which we anticipate may take several months.

About the Down's Heart Group

Down's Heart Group (DHG) was founded in 1988, as a charitable organisation with a primary focus on the provision of information advice and guidance support for those with Down’s Syndrome and an associated cardiac condition, their families and carers at every stage of life from pre-natal diagnosis, through to adulthood.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting in May 2018, a decision was agreed to restructure the charity as a trustee led charitable organisation.  Following this important decision DHG has dedicated time to establish new ways of working particularly to develop a smarter and more collaborative approach such as meeting online implementing the use of business management software and updating our website presence.

DHG aimed to provide unbiased, up to date facts, thus enabling individuals to make informed choices.  We've reproduced many of our information sheets on this website to directly help families or for professionals to use in supporting them, we are in discussions about these valuable resources being hosted by another organisation in the future.
